    • 08:15 09:00
Status of semileptonic decays at Belle and Belle II (25 + 5') 45m
Speaker: Florian Bernlochner (Belle (SuperKEKB Experiment))

The talk length should also be 25 + 5

Thanks Florian -- changed now.  A.W.

      Florian B.

General: consider hypertexting links to arXiv and papers.

General, as discussed: include appropriate introductory Belle II slides, since this talk is both plenary and the first talk containing Belle II results.

P.2: “since about a decade” -> “over the past two decades”

      P.2: HFLAV update since 2021?

P.2: Find Ligeti reference if possible; separate the “by Z. Ligeti” text from the plot contents somehow.

P.3: Define on slide diff bw 3.1 and 3.6 sigma results (or remove one)

      P.4: “but NOT the neutrino”

P.6,7: say or spell out “beam constrained” (was done on slide 47)

      P.8: #2: move “of”

P.17 etc.: same as before, move the “of” in title

      P.21: fix light-grey background text

      P.22: “kinematic” -> “kinematics”

P.25,26: interfering text, upper right; also make more visible the “before” and “after” text?

      P.27: typo “processes”

      P.29: Include words “lattice QCD”?

P.30: suggest removing extra “+” in the decay chain sequence

P.31: Need to define “w” here?  (Was nicely done verbally though, i.e. “recoil”.)

      P.38: Redefine “w”?

P.47: Move “simultaneously” to after “rho”

      P.49: Conclusion — to complete

      Rehearsal duration: about 25 minutes.

Light dark sector searches at accelerators (25+5’) 45m
Speaker: Prof. Christopher Hearty (University of British Columbia / IPP)

      Chris H.

General: consider hypertexting links to arXiv and papers.

General: Text is always very readable, though may benefit from some colour/bolding emphasis.

General: Some plots are harder to read (small size). For the more important ones, spreading the same content over multiple slides can enable enlargement.

      P.7: “visa-versa” -> “vice-versa” typo

P.8: The “energetic photon” text was well explained verbally. Replacing the symbol with “analogous to those of” might improve the clarity of the written slide.

P.9: FASER intro: consider also mentioning the CERN LHC (not just ATLAS).

P.11: Check background expectation figures. OK.

P.16: Example where bottom two plots could be enlarged to improve legibility; top/right plot could be made smaller, or content could span two slides instead of one.

P.18: First concrete mention of Belle II. Noting that Florian’s plenary will have taken place earlier in the day, could Belle II’s specific low-multiplicity capabilities be more attractively highlighted, perhaps the with addition of a small graphic?

P.19: Consider spreading the same content over multiple slides, to improve plot readability.

P.22: Less description of the couplings could save some time; description of how the two photons manifest in the detector was welcome.

P.24: Candidate for spreading over two slides, due to the bottom two plots.

P.27: The 2.5microsecond is designed to exceed the muon lifetime of 2.2microseconds? A: no, it’s just due to the detector’s timing resolution.

P.29: Reminder to fix arrow position(s).

P.32: Left plot could receive less time/emphasis, to save time.

      Rehearsal duration: about 26 minutes.
