PXD Weekly Meeting

Europe/Berlin

PXD Operation (Hua Ye, Felix B. Mueller, Bjoern Spruck):
PXD was participating in luminosity runs including continues injection in LER and HER. Observed problems with pedestal upload on DHH50 modules and overvoltage protection triggering have been fixed by experts on site. Improvements of the DHH firmware is still ongoing. The latest update of the DHE firmware includes a fix of the CRC errors and improved synchronization between the system components.

Since Tuesday owl shift some loss of data is observed. The root cause of this is currently being investigated. In particular whether this comes from the high occupancy events during HER injection or whether the origin of this loss coming from system operational issues.

Gated mode qualification at DESY (Felix J. Mueller):
The new firmware for the FTSW v2 module was deployed and the emulation of the kicker signal was installed. There are still some issues with the transmission of the signal from FTSW to the DHH system. This is currently also under investigation in consultation with Nakao-san.

PXD 2020:
Sensors (Rainer Richter):
PXD9-20a: The thinning process was re-qualified by etching four dummy wafers. The etching of the process wafers will start next week, at 1/10 of phase3
PXD9-20b: at 17/22 of phase2 (backside etching, definition of thin sensor area)
PXD9-21: at step 12/13 of phase1 (runs at low priority as backup)

Module testing queue:
no news since last week

Assembly of new L1 modules:
Tests of bumped ASICs on the probe station at KIT confirm the missing signal ser_out. The failure of the chips is therefore either on the ASIC itself or due to the bumping process. To conclude on this, the two remaining wafers with Switchers without bumps will be tested on the probe station next.

Ladder Assembly (Hans-Guenther Moser):
Monday and Tuesday we had some work in the cleanroom: a unused measuring microscope was removed to be used by another experiment. This allowed to displace our Mitotoyo to get better access and control from all sided. We added also a camera to our stage which allows fast control of the position of the ceramics after the insertion. A full dress rehearsal including full documentation of all steps is being done with the goal to start the gluing of the first fully functional b-grade ladder beginning of next week.

There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
