Travel

Duke University is located in Durham, North Carolina. It can be accessed by plane, train, bus, and car.

 

Air

The Raleigh-Durham airport (RDU) is an international airport that serves Raleigh, Durham, and the surrounding Research Triangle region of North Carolina as its main airport. It is located about 20-25 mins southeast of Durham.

You can take a bus from RDU to Durham / Duke University, which takes about one hour and is free of charge.

Train

Durham has an Amtrak station on the Carolinian/Piedmont line connecting Charlotte, NC, with New York City. The train station is located in downtown Durham and the train stops four times a day.

Bus

Durham has a Greyhound bus station.

Car

Interstates 85 and 40, plus US Highways 70 and 15-501 connect Durham to the rest of the country.

If you need to park on campus, have a look a the duke parking website. The parking  closest to the event venue is the Bryan center surface lot and the adjacent garage. Duke instituted a $2/hr parking fee recently. A reduced fee of $12 and $10/day respectively can be applied if you create a parking account (top right corner on the website) and get a dally pass. Closest to the venue (Love auditorium in the Levine Science Research Center) is the Circuit Drive Lot (5 min walk) and the Science Drive Garage (~10 min walk). You can get printable parking passes for both that you can scan when entering the garage.
